AeroPeak Air Duct Cleaning

About Us

We take air duct cleaning work in Goleta, CA and the towns around it. Straight pricing, a real arrival window, and a crew that tells you honestly what a job will and will not fix.

Some duct systems cannot be cleaned back to good. We say so on site, before anything gets scheduled. If the inner facing of fiberglass duct board has broken down and is shedding, brushing it just releases more fiber, that run needs replacement, not cleaning. Same with internally lined sheet metal where the liner has gone soft from years of damp air, or flex that has been crushed, torn, or chewed open in an attic. We will show you the camera footage and tell you plainly your money is better spent elsewhere. We also tell people the other direction. If a system is five years old, runs clean, and the registers come off dusty but not loaded, we say come back in a few years. Those calls do not pay us much, and we still make them.

The Santa Barbara south coast corridor, Carpinteria through Goleta, hemmed by the Santa Ynez range and the ocean, mountains running east-west so homes sit in a narrow strip with strong onshore flow most of the year and hot dry offshore sundowner winds in fall, puts a specific kind of wear on ductwork. Duct systems here age differently than inland California. Mild winters mean low furnace runtime, but marine humidity keeps attic and crawlspace dust damp and sticky rather than dry, so it packs onto duct walls instead of blowing through. Salt aerosol corrodes exposed sheet metal and register faces. Long shoulder seasons mean many systems sit idle for months, then run hard during the first fall heat event, pushing settled dust, rodent and insect debris, and attic insulation fibers straight into the living space. That first-startup smell in October is our most common call. The second is fine ash: Thomas Fire and the regional smoke episodes after it drove ash into attic duct cavities and return plenums across the corridor, and homes with vented attics and leaky flex connections are still carrying it. Original 1950s-70s ductwork in the older Goleta tracts is usually duct board or lined metal, and we check its condition before we touch it.

On site, the crew runs a truck-mounted vacuum with the collection unit outside the house. We seal every register and return so the system holds negative pressure, then work each run with rotating brushes and compressed air whips, pulling debris toward the vacuum instead of into your rooms. We clean the supply trunk, the branches, the return plenum, and the blower compartment. Air handlers and furnaces from Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, and American Standard are all routine for us. Cost on a duct cleaning here tracks the number of supply runs, how many stories and how tight the attic access is, whether the return is a single central drop or multiple returns, and what we find once the registers come off. Rodent contamination or heavy ash loading in the plenum takes real extra labor. We walk the house and count runs before we give you a number. If we find leakage at the connections while we are in there, duct sealing is usually the thing that keeps the dust from coming back. Cleaning the evaporator coil matters on systems that have gone years without it, and keeping up with filter replacement is the cheapest thing you can do to stretch the interval between cleanings.

Our service area

We cover Goleta and the surrounding towns. If you're in one of these areas and have a air duct cleaning problem, call us. We usually get out the same day.

When we say don't clean it, and why

Will cleaning fix this, or am I patching something that needs replacing? That is the question we answer first. Plenty of Goleta duct runs cannot be cleaned safely. If the inside is fiberglass duct board from the 1950s-70s era, and the facing has gone powdery, brushing it shreds more fiber into the house. We say so on site and stop there.

The checks are simple and you can watch them. We look at flex connections at the plenum for torn liner and loose draw bands. We pull a register face and look at the sheet metal edge. Salt aerosol off the ocean pits exposed metal along this corridor, and rust flakes travel. We check whether the attic is vented, because the fine ash from the Thomas Fire and later smoke episodes settled in those cavities and keeps re-entering through leaky joints.

Repair wins when the duct body is sound and the failure is at the joints. Replacement wins when the liner itself is the contaminant source. Cleaning a shedding duct buys a few months.

Mild winters here mean low furnace runtime, so damage shows up slowly and gets missed. Long idle stretches, then a hard fall sundowner week, is when homeowners notice. We would rather tell you to wait than sell a cleaning that solves nothing.
